This atmospheric coming-of-age drama, reminiscent of "Stand by Me", is set in the Athenian suburb of Elefsis during the early 1970s, the period of military rule and the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. The bittersweet story centers on a group of eleven-year-old boys who call themselves The Acrobats and earn their daredevil name by taking dangerous dives into a concrete water cistern. The boys' carefree lives parallel, and eventually intertwine with the more troubled sphere of the adults.
